This Siginal Tree is about 100 meters from my house. Like many others I have seen while hiking, it is "suspect" in one or more ways. This one is a tulip tree (like many others I have found) and is probably only about 60 to 80 years old (I could be off by 40 years, either way). It clearly points to a not-easily-seen spring just down from the tree's location which is near an obviously old road-bed. It was probably not formed by a traditional American Indian but by someone in the early 1900s. Either way, it really is just another ancestor of the internet!
