New Green!

The wind no longer races through cold, bare branches; now it works the new leaves, massaging and kneading them; swirling and sashaying back and forth from mountain to mountain and into and out of the valleys, sloshing over the ridgelines, with a swelling and waning sound like raging surf at a primordial beach. Sometimes it sounds like a mighty train, but no train ever moved this much cargo! Great loads of pollen and leaves and dust and smells arrive and depart all around the mountains, many going from here to there, many others coming from there to here. All the animals and birds keep stopping and raising their heads - looking around - something’s coming! The Springtime Express is coming around the mountain!

Walking the Dogs

Walking the dogs is a treat for both man and beast. We humans walk on these spring mornings with our heads held high, focusing on the tree tops, listening to the birds and enjoying the breeze. Our dogs though, have a closer encounter with our great planet. We both miss things the other enjoys and even though we walk along the very same pathway, we pass through different worlds.
